Jataka Tales

Jataka Tales from ancient India serve as a moral guide in the garb of tales of wisdom. Written around 300 BC in the Pali language, these stories (a total of 547 in number) are mainly about past incarnations of the Buddha.

The Broken Pot
An old Jataka Tale from India that talks about a priest who dreamt too far, only to wake up to harsher reality. Moral: Don’t make foolish plans for the future, and count your chickens before they are hatched.
