The Viraat Hindu Sabha (VHS) has recently launched Sarve Samachar, the first online Hindu news portal. Using artificial intelligence technology similar to Google News, the fully automated news service publishes content from over 40 online news sources every 30 minutes. Since the launch of the service, the site has gathered over 12,000 news stories, has had over 50,000 headlines read and was recently named as the Site of the Week on Rediff.com on November 28, 2004.

Besides aggregation of news headlines, the site also collects the latest articles, columns, and editorials from across the web. To provide the most relevant content, the site displays the latest press photos of Hindus, features a daily verse of Bhagavad-Gita selected by the Sivananda Ashram (Rishikesh), uses artificial intelligence to suggest similar stories, and attempts to filter out irrelevant headlines such as those from Bollywood tabloids. The site also allows users to receive the most popular headlines by email.

Headlines, both of religious and political interest to Hindus, are typically scattered across numerous media sources. With Sarve Samachar, Hindus gain access to news as it happens using the latest in internet technology.
