Millions of people from around the world congregated at the confluence of the Ganges, the Yamuna and a mythical third river in Allahabad in northern India to bathe in the icy waters of the holy rivers during the six-week festival of "Ardh Kumbh Mela" (Half Pitcher Festival) in January 2007, said to be one of the largest gatherings on earth.
