Maa Sarada Devi, the wife of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa of Dakshineshwar, Calcutta, is equally regarded as her mystic husband, and considered one of the most important saint mothers of all times.
This week, Hindus around the world, especially the devotees of the Ramakrishna Mission, will celebrate the 16oth birth anniversary of this revered saint mother of India. Maa Sarada, as she is popularly called by her followers, was born on December 22, 1853. This year the 'Holy Mother' birthday celebrations are being held at the Belur Math in the Howrah district of West Bengal, India on January 4, 2013.
