Vikram Year 2062 Begins

The day after Diwali is the first day of the financial new year for the North Indian business community and Jains. In North India, Diwali is held on the final day of the Vikram calendar, and today marks the beginning of the North Indian New Year of the Vikram Era 2062. The new year is also called 'Annakut', which literally means food mountain indicating the harvest season. Jain businessmen traditionally start their accounting year from Diwali, and the Jain year Vira Nirvana Samvat 2532 starts today... GO
