Rathyatra Update

Rathyatra 2003 concluded earlier this month. However, it's not too late to view the recorded Webcast and Photo Gallery of the famous Carnival of Puri, or read more about the Chariot Festival. Every year in mid-summer, Lord Jagannath, with his elder brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, goes on vacation, traveling on grand chariots, from his temple in Puri to his garden palace in the countryside. This belief has given rise to this mammoth religious festival... and given birth to the English word 'juggernaut'. How? It's an interesting story!!
